Thanksgiving

Our first thanksgiving in Charlotte was a success! I woke up, made cinnamon rolls, and turned on the fireplace while kenny made me a mimosa and coffee. We made a lot of food ahead of time so I got to watch the entire Macy's parade with my boys.

Once the parade was over the boys made gingerbread houses.... Well, I made them and they stuck every other piece of candy in their mouths. Once we were done with those we went on a super cold walk around the neighborhood to jump in the biggest piles of leaves we could find.

Thank god for FaceTime, right? We got to FaceTime our friends Jeff and Fabi and see their beautiful family, as well as our families. We may be 3,000 miles away, but technology allows us to see each other in real time and for that we are extremely grateful.

Per tradition we got our tree today! It's a beautiful tree and smells like heaven. The peanuts put the ornaments on and ran around the living room with their stocking screaming with excitement. They are anxiously waiting for their elf on a shelf to arrive and kenny and I are praying that we remeber to move it this year. Last year he would stay in the same place for a few days and we told the kids that Frisbee must have been super tired and forgot to report back to santa. Oops!

Thankful

We have so much to be thankful for this year! We have been in Charlotte for 2 weeks and 1 day and as much as we miss our family and friends, we definitely made the right move by coming to Charlotte. We are SO HAPPY!

The boys are adjusting well and Michael is loving school. Once the holidays are over we will look into preschool for Aiden. Kenny got an incredible job yesterday working for some really great people. I am loving my job! I work with such a fun, smart, driven group of people. I am so excited for all of the growth that our jobs and this move will give our family.

I hope you all have an incredible Thanksgiving.
I know that we are definitely counting our blessings in the Hanlon House.

Sending hugs from the south!

Goodbye for now, San Francisco

Goodbyes have to be the worst thing in the world. Saying goodbye to friend and family that have been apart of you for so long is tough. For the longest time I kept saying "God, why are you keeping me here in this city. I'm ready to go!" And now I see that we have lived here the perfect amount of time. We've been her long enough to find ourselves as individuals, we found each other and we've  found amazing friends that we call family.

One of my best friends wrote me the most beautiful card and in that card she reminded me and significant life events. She reminded me of the time we first met and I said, "Hi! My name is Desiree and that's my boyfriend Kenny over there. I love him, but please don't tell him because he doesnt know yet." That seems like ages ago and I'm so glad I that kenny knows how much I love him now.

San Francisco is without a doubt the greatest city in the world. Good food, tons to do, beautiful place to be, but above all, it brings some of the best people in.

My heart is so full! I feel like we are definitely ready for the next phase of our lives and knowing that we have all of you behind us, cheering us on and giving us your support makes the move so much easier. We love you, San Francisco! We will see you all very soon!
